A very solid CD collection of the studio albums if you ask me. A lot of people do say that these 1999 remasters are horrid, but if you play them in an HDCD player they sound a million times better than in a standard player. Surprisingly decent dynamic range when played in HDCD mode that has the headroom of the original CDs but with more punch to them.It's not perfect, the first album has some noticeable clipping and compression in some spots but not enough to kill the album entirely and it progressively goes away up to L.A. Woman which sounds fantastic. I have not compared these to the HDTracks releases but as far as digital versions of these albums, these are some of the best if you have a way to play HDCDs. Highly recommended.
