A great deep house track with a cool spoken voice and cool beats:)))

The Mazi Mix is rubbish! Now the Salt City Orchestra mix is sublime, deep house at its best!

I used to love the Salt City Orch mix and although it sounds a bit dated to my ears now it still a great warm-up track. I LOVE Mazi's Audio Soul Mix as it jacks it up and makes me want to dance and I think it still sounds futuristic. I would play both versions in the same set as to me music/DJing is about sharing. Horses for courses but we all agree it's a great track and they definitely should release the acapella then us budding producers can all do our own remix :-)

"Release the Goddam files Pilot" Quote from comedian, legend and prophet, Bill Hicks.....

i think 2017 would be a good year for a repress of this beauty ... a perfect edition will pack the frits wentink rmx on it too!

Can you get the vocal as an acapella anywhere? Much lav
Lcena
The label incorrectly states which song is on the A or B side.
Gardall
A true masterpiece in terms of harmonies, arrangement and dramaturgy. Pricetag for this record is around 50€ for over 10 years now. Says everything :)
Umi
Not even 2 years later and it's already above 50, such a shame I wasn't born earlier...
Brightcaster
When it comes to the many remixes of Marshall Jefferson's seminal track, these two come a close 2nd and 3rd to the ever green Salt City Orchestra remix.

the vox was apparently recorded mainly just as an adlib for a soundcheck during one of Marshall's gigs in Florida. It was recorded, and here we have the vocal results.best mix? hands down the Justin Martin mix. without exception it is the only mix that takes the meaning of the words and fuses it with the music. the ups and downs of the tale are matched with that of the music.the other mixes are generally good(the timewriter mix particularly deep), but none touch the jm mix.edit: i've noticed that discogs has indicated i'm referencing the SOAP release, but i have no idea why. The remixes i'm speaking of appear on PLAXX22-8

What a track! We have the perfect chugging beats and this occasion indescribable sound that takes the track up to the next level and just keeps going higher. All throughout the track is a guy telling the story of the first (and only) time he ever took mushrooms. Love it. One of my best tracks of that year. I remember thinking 'why is everybody listening to that electroclash crap when there are tunes out there like this'. I suppose the masses are into a quick, easy fix. Fashion eh!

I'm pretty sure the guy you are talking about is none other than Marshall Jefferson.

It's the Mazi mix yer after. Just a genius record that is deep and techy and spacey all at the same time, the kind of record that sounds and feels like drugs and you wish would never end...Next thing you know we were playin' tongue hockey.
IGOT
This record is such an interesting concept of spoken word prose, cool organic house beats and overall tripiness. Combine them all together and you have one of the tripiest tracks since The Irresistable Forces "Spiritual High". Nowhere does the late Dr.Timothy Leary's phrase of "Turn On Tune In & Drop Out" ring true to this record here!

"I almost felt like I didn't have any feet!" Mazi (Audio Soul Project) takes it harder and funkier, and throws in some great flanged dropouts at choice moments in the sample. It's a Bill and Ted-type dude giving it a "beautiful" spiel about his first and only time on mushrooms. In the wrong hands, this idea could easily have ended with cheesy or predictable results, but this one hits the spot big time with numerous memorable lines. Up there with Preacher Man for quotability.

It's Marshall Jefferson himself speaking on the record, one of my fave deep house records, remember hearing it years ago on a free mix cd and it stood out from everything else on there, cracking remix by SCO
