Master Blaster AKA one of the very first tunes I lost my s*** to, upstairs at The Richmond.I asked Pierre on Facebook about making this track - what the vibe was like and whether the studio heads knew they were onto something special that night. I was lucky enough to get a reply from the great man - he said that the track was pre-planned; that he had it mapped out and all the sounds down in his head before any tape rolled. And that, ladies and gentlemen, for me is just one of many reasons why DJ Pierre will be remembered as one of the greatest producers of club music to ever walk the face of the Earth. Imagine coming up with this. The next time I heard this tune was over 20 years later and, I swear that mother just slammed in right between my ears where it left off without missing a single beat. True story.

Master Blaster.. my favorite DJ Pierre cut, also I believe my first taste of Wild Pitch, probably the most intense though he was still producing these sounds at least for the next few years. i think i kept on chasing WP cuts from Pierre, Roy Davis Jnr, Nate Davis, Danell Dixon and other WP producers just to find something to top this one. though I never went to the Sound Factory 27th & 10th during the early 90s heydays, i believe this cut was solidly part of its soundtrack that made that venue at the timeframe so legendary.

Back in 1992 this was my first taste of Pierre and his 'wild pitch' style, and since then, through countless releases and remixes, Master Blaster is still his most amazing tune- Period. A record that is as timeless as it is innovative & deserves it's place among the all-time greats.

"Master Blaster" is one of dj Pierre's finest moments. His 'wild pitch'-trademark is all over this track. A long intro which builds and builds and then finally there comes the kickdrum. Slowly there are more instruments added and after around the 3 minutes there's the explosion. This last 'till around the 9th minute, then there's plenty enough time to mix it out before the second explosion comes in. This is a 16 minute long adventure in pure sexy House. "We miss you wild pitch" On the record: "In loving memory of a Chicago legend: DJ. Ron Hardy"
