I saw THREE new copies of this for sale in a record store last week (8/11/2018). So, copies still exist at a sensible price. All you have to do is get down to Leuven.
Jogas
argh. pick me up one! please. No? C'mon. Pretty Please?

I purchased my copy in a local record shop (doubt if it was in Ostend or Ghent) during RSD week at the "normal" list price of about 25euro. But indeed, RSD is being exploited by so-called "music-lovers" buying all limited editions and then re-selling them as "very-very-limited" (of course, as they bought all of them) at ridiculous prices. My advice: send them a discogs mail with your kind opinion. This has nothing to do with "happy collecting", it's just a race for quick money... shame on them!

Hm,I like the idea of a discogs mail. but isnt that some kind of felonious digital assault? No less than they deserve of course......

Prices coming down!Hold steady, the flippers will get realistic if they want shot of them :)Also, I try small shops like you said. This would be nice at the right price, nothing more.

...for what it's worth, the Residents announced in an email that this will be included in a Pre-Residents volume of their archival CD series, along with a bunch of other unheard material and such.

I find it incredibly amusing the lengths people will go to cash in on something with a high overhead, especially with a band like The Residents. While incredibly fanatical, we're certainly not stupid enough to take the bait and actually oblige the people reselling this at such an absurd price. A word of advice: this is a RSD 'First' release, there are more copies of this to come, and most likely with everything that this initial run came with (reproduced art, insert); you are NOT going to get anything more than $40 out of this.
Painwind
bad thing is that smaller record stores don't get the stuff sometimes. it became (or was) a joke, this RSD
interactive man
You can get it on cd or MP3 from klanggalerie

Cherry Red said they are not making more vinyl. They "might" release it digitally at some point. No more vinyl.
Swift Summer
I was on hols for RSD. I won't buy it at those prices. What a joke.Fingers crossed they release a nice coloured vinyl version. I would prefer that.

RSD is a day for flippers. It's been that way for years. It's not going to get better. If you want an RSD release your choices are stand in line and hope, get a part time job at a record store, or pay flipper prices. The bands, record labels, and shops are not to blame. If I released Warner Bros on vinyl I would have pressed even less copies and it would have taken me a long time to sell them all. This one blew up because it was an RSD release and it was on some "RSD must have" lists that flippers and nerds read.
Bladecliff
In that case, I stand corrected. This whole situation is just a horrendous way to ensure fans won't find a copy at a fair price.
Visonima
They're actually selling regularly on ebay for $65 - $120 and Cherry Red said it was in fact an RSD exclusive and is not being repressed.
Jan
Personally, I'm trying to find a second copy myself for a friend, although the scarcity of this particular run is practically all artificial. It's probably the whole "Buy or Die" approach of old, but it only serves to prolong the problem fans and regular record buyers are having with flippers.
Jugore
A number of copies sold here a couple of days ago for over $100. The same day, a few of us were lucky enough to score copies for under $30, from ethical sellers. There are always a fanatical few who will pay extortionate prices. Only foolish and/or excessively avaricious sellers believe such buyers are unlimited.
Akta
Beautiful remaster, but my copy has a visible and audible flaw on A11 "In the still of the night" that causes a scratchy pop across five rotations. No way was this missed in the test-pressing, it's prominent but anyone else get that, or is this my singularly uglified one-of-a-kind!
Direbringer
Yeah sure, but bad masters definitely weren't the case for what I'm describing. I gave up on Pirates after problems with CD, LP lacquers, test pressings, and printed packaging on four different projects. They redid their mistakes at no cost (other than time, stress, landfill) and admitted to me on the lacquers that experimental music wasn't their forte. Aaanyway... I'm not unclear about the nature of vinyl, but if GZ's material flaws affect more than a few copies on a release as special as this one, it'll be a shame. Scott Colburn is working wonders on these pREServed editions.
Stonewing
Never had a problem with Pirates / GZ. To my eyes and ears they make the best looking and sounding vinyl and I've used several companies. Most bad vinyl is because of bands not properly mastering the music and not checking test pressings. Every pressing is going to have a flaw here and there. Nobody is checking every copy that comes out of the machines. I've been disappointed with every pressing place I've worked with except Pirates and will continue to use them until that changes. Just saying.
Vertokini
Ahoy! Well then... looks like GZ media is still up to their shoddy ways. We gave up on em (via Pirate Press) to go with GottaGroove. Never looked back, wait'll you hear the new Christian Ronn & Ikue Mori LP coming this year. Test pressings just approved yesterday! Something else is already headed to your USPS box, similarly flawfree. Hope you enjoy!
Pruster
My copy has no problems at all. Both sides are perfect.
Boraston
There's a similar visible/audible flaw on the B side of my copy as well, but the A side is fine. Fancy meeting you in a place like this, Mr. Rescipiscent!

This is the best LP ever made. I wonder if QRP made it at 45 RPM Mastered by Kevin Gray. what would it sound like. Would there be more detail. I heard someone stole the original tapes of this recording. Were they given back to Homer and Hardy.
Weiehan
I would recommend to listen before buying because this release is not very good !
Mettiarrb
Totally agree. This sounds surpringly good. And if you like early residents then this is a must have. Very pleased to have this.
Delagamand
I'm listening to it now. What's wrong with it. The content or the pressing. You can't be vague with a album like this. The mastering is fantastic. It is has clicks and pops on a raw listen. I don't know much about GZ Media. Maybe some can cut in here and explain this. The bootleg tape will never sound good again. I can't figure out where the stars are to review anything. Where is it ?
Ffyan
Of course it sucks, that's why Warner Bros. sent it back. Good enough for me though.
Lanin
I can see thinking that if you had no idea what you were getting into. I've had a CDR boot of this for 15 years and this vinyl issue is great. Way better than the shitty boot.
Whilingudw
This is the only thing I could'nt find this record store day. If someone is willing to sell me it for a decent price that would be great. Or maybe I can trade you for one of my RSD finds.
