After many years of remixing other artists, the Rhythm Masters offered their first opus in 2001. It begins with a track proving what they are able to: their distinctive sound goes on until a sample drops in, transforming the dark atmosphere of the intro into a joyful party anthem. Released as a single, "Underground" is offered here in what I consider it's best version. Vocals by Diane Charlemagne were added only on the 7" version and used for several remixes. "Ghetto" is more disappointing. It contains a sample used many times before (notably in the Technotronic Feat. Monday Midnite single "Like This" released in 2000). "Disco 2000" is more or less a cover of "The Chase" by Giorgio Moroder. "Angels" was originally planned to be a single, but the Rhythm Masters splitted up for a while and it never happened. In this track, you will recognize some of the treatment used on their remix of "Secrets" by Mutiny UK. "Don't F*** With My Filter" is nicely filtered, with a catchy tune. "Electro Shock" annoyingly repeats the melody of "Ghetto" under a breakbeat banner. "Speed Of Light" contains samples of Dancefloor by Zapp, which were better used by Spiller on "Cry Baby" in my opinion. "Electronic Funk" is probably one the best tracks on the album, with a very urban vibe. "One In A Million" and "Heavy Soul", are more Hip Hop inspired. Both aren't very convincing; especially "Heavy Soul" with a neverending raggamuffin tirade that gets on my nerves every time I hear it.
