First heard this track on London pirate radio station DANCE 93.0FM when in them days not as well known - Mr C (from Shamen fame) happened to be skilfully spinning his excellent selection of hard freestyle & electro beats in the mix, when all of a sudden "Planetary Deterioration" came on - first thought was, got to get this, my faith in my beloved electro was back! Heard it out first time at the "Dungeons" played by a couple of djs that night and it went down a storm, mixed with some heavy 4/4 & breakbeat techno. crowd jumping about like nutters punching the air. This track has to be played very loud to be truly appreciated. With its addictive, booming 808 bass heavy licks and infectious, futuristic, no-nonsense, industrial foot stomping, air punching electro beat, female moans, samples from Planet Patrol's - Play At Your Own Risk , Afrika Bambaataa's - Planet Rock & Hashim's - Primrose Path vocoder sample. keeping busy with enough changes involving stop/starts, synth-keyboard work, loud scratching and the obligatory cowbell sounds. I suppose if there was one word to describe this tune, it would be RELENTLESS, when I put this on I don't want it to stop, it's just absolutely addictive. You can't have enough of a good thing, can you?... Respect to Mr C for spinning it on his show that day, and respect to Lenny Dee & Victor Simonelli, full stop. Period.
