Neil Young is without a doubt one of the most important and influential songwriters in the history of pop music. One of the reasons by which he so long insisted was that he always succeeded to continue to surprise his audience by plates with different bands like The Stray Gators, Crazy Horse and even grunge rockers Pearl Jam on this album he is accompanied by the legendary soul band Booker T & The mg's, with which Young toured intensively in the 1990s. That is again a surprise but the plate is unfortunately pretty uninspired. The grooves of Booker T and his men tired nowadays rather than sound lazy, and the band seems like a parody of himself in the opener When I Hold You In My Arms. Also the songs of Young are this time of the caliber thirteen-in-a-dozen. The question that Neil Young us, he would might be better able to address itself to itself.
