Dakar & Grinser - Are You Really Satisfied Now FLAC download

After hearing "I Wanna Be Your Dog" off the brilliant As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2, I decided to check the rest of this album out. Unfortunately it's just not held up very well over the years. Whilst the aforementioned track is still a great dark and synth-y cover of a Stooges song, its probably the highlight of the entire album. The rest of the album just sounds very under-produced and poor, with exception to "Take Me Naked" and "Stay With Me". These lads definitely seem to shine best when doing synthpop bangers, but unfortunately they keep trying different directions which overall leads to a rather incohesive album.

Dakar and Grinser’s album Are You Really Satisfied Now is where pop meets techno-clash. There’s a definite electro-clash sensibility, but it’s filtered through the techno stylings that Disko B is known for. Thus, while tracks like “Are You Really Satisfied Now?” and “Stay With Me” could almost get airplay on commercial radio stations (but not really), “I Wanna Be Your Dog” is a darker journey through the minefield of pop. The groove is never a problem, though -- the basslines throb and wicked acid sounds find their way through the album. “Jam the Suckers In” is a sweaty grinder, animalistic and raw. Miss Kittin makes a token electro-clash appearance on “Le Cha,” but really, the album belongs to Dakar & Grinser.
