watching to future
A companion album to Various - New Wave which came out at around the same time. Two different labels but sharing some of the same artists. (Ramones, Patti Smith, Dead Boys, Richard Hell & Faming Groovies appear on both). Never quite figured why that was.Money was tight around 1978 so these two samplers served an important purpose.It was great to hear The Ramones, Dead Boys, Richard Hell and Patti Smith from the US axis.... plus The Undertones and The Rezillos from the UK. Throw in some power pop and a reggae song ... and it was quite a good selection. Can't remember anything about The Squares at all, who were they?

I may be the last person on earth to figure this out, but this LP's title and cover art is a play on the 1969 compilation "The Rock Machine Turns You On". https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Rock-Machine-Turns-You-On/master/137095

My copy of this album has the same catalogue number but omits The Undertones' True Confessions. There is also no mention of this track on the album sleeve.
