"Shakin Room" samples the intro from Space's 1977 track "Carry On, Turn Me On"
Delari
In "shakin room" there are vocal samples from Chic's "Dance Dance Dance" as well as a Bohannon vocal sample from "let's start to dance"
Zacki
"Ain't that somethin" samples percussion bass and guitar riff from "Lady Bug" by the bumble bee unlimited (Patrick Adams)

Bought it for 20 cent many moons ago :)
you secret
Could somebody please let me know if it's the original or the repress (official?) that has the pressing problems? Cheers!
AnnyMars
Mines an original with pressing problems.
Nagor
Yeah me too, i have to decrease weight and anti-skate for it to play without jumping. Its only at one point in the vinyl that i have though.

Anybody else experienced pressing problems with needle getting stuck? I checked two copies and both the same..
invincible

Yes Jim, im afraid that was part of the package. I can almost forgive it as it is such a great record but slightly irritating.
Shadowredeemer
heard this for the first time tonight. Unreal funky blend of deep house and electro bleeps. Beautiful

Thanks misterpeeprz!

I'm not sure I'd call it high-fidelity, but the title track is quite beautiful. A combination of Virgo Four melody and acid 303. I really wonder what happened to these producers. I'd love to hear their stories. The vocals are catchy yet not overbearing, and the track morphs nicely with lots of analogue synth variety. It sounds like it could have been made much later, by certain Detroit or British producers. It's definitely worth tracking down.

i think the conjunction of "trax" and "hi-fidelity" is a little tongue-in-cheek...nice to see an appearance from mr. merwyn though, welcome!

Hi Jacob! Just saw this comment you left 5 years ago. Thanks for appreciating it and giving it kind words. No one has yet heard everything/all the story. This track I originally did more soulful and then when Trax wanted to put it out after playing it for them (Larry Sherman), I decided to add more parts and changed it up a bit. Since this was slightly different than the other stuff and the B side was primarily samples, which was never done until this ep, we went under another name...again....I made the track and brought it over to eric's house to hear and I remember his brother really liking it and walking around saying "let your body talk" which is what gave the indication to put it out. At the time I didn't mind eric being put down as also writing it, although it was my track, cause' we were friends and just figured we together, and he never declined to be put down on anything he didn't come up with so that's how it went.

Beautiful deephouse, created with a hi-fidelity reverence for all things Trax and DJ International.
romrom
I've never encountered any early chicago house records that I would consider anywhere near "Hi-fidelity".
