Brightfury
This album is a sucker pucnh of melody and heaviness. It's got the requisite screaming macho "are we not men!!?"-ness, but the guitars are almost like symphonic instruments here, especially when coupled with the synths that are thrown in the mix. Combine that with the energetic and bombastic use of drums, and the clean vocals, you end up with an AMA-ZING CD. I like this one more so than their prior CD, but I do like that one too (TO PLANT A SEED [2009]). I haven't managed to enjoy WCAR's further output. I like the fact that I can buy this CD in a jewel case. I had a copy of this album, and it was packaged in one of those annoying cardboard cases. Nothing against cardboard, but plastic does have a place in this world (IMO).
