Is the radio edit for "Losing My Edge" available anywhere??
Raelin
So this is a version without the extended 'disco' version ?
Bluecliff
my copy does not say "repress" OR have a /100 numbering on it. which version is it? this, or http://www.discogs.com/LCD-Soundsystem-Losing-My-Edge-Beat-Connection/release/3490059

my copy does not say "repress" OR have a /150 numbering on it. which version is it? this, or http://www.discogs.com/LCD-Soundsystem-Losing-My-Edge-Beat-Connection/release/3561078

Due to a mastering issue--probably loud and phased (stereo) bass which will make the needle jump out of the groove--'Losing My Edge' skips on every original copy (10+) i've ever laid hands upon. Doesn't matter who you buy this from, the original master is going to skip.
Jube
For the record, this isn't a problem with the UK issue that come out on Output in 2002 (I own a couple of copies of the Output 12" and sold a bunch more). This makes me think it was a problem with the press rather than the mastering

Oh I didn't realize Technics 1200s were "cheap". My bad.If "there's probably nothing wrong with the record" then why was it recut and publicly acknowledged to skip?http://store.dfarecords.com/products/dfa2123rDo your homework.
Conjuril
Records will skip if you don't have enough weight on the tonearm. Cheap turntables don't have enough weight in the tonearm. There's probably nothing wrong with the record, try it on a player that has a decent counterweight.

Your experience has been with the remaster, not the original.http://store.dfarecords.com/products/dfa2123r"This is the 2012 Remastered version cut super loud by Bob Weston. And it doesn't skip anymore! Yay."The original master--for this Discogs release--skips.
Yahm
I have been able to play through all the copies that have come my way. Can you adjust the weight and tracking force of your tonearm? How about the angle and/or weight of your headshell & cartridge? I understand what you are saying, but have had a different experience entirely with this single.

LCD Soundsystem once again pleases me with this positively-charged release. "Beat Connection" drew me to searching far and wide for this song, which has everything I love in this style of electro: rock sensibilities, tribal rhythms, playful vocals, and an upbeat tempo.
Yramede
oh yes, i'll shamelessly rock both sides in one night: at a party, art opening, between punk bands, or at a dance club. Both of these tracks rule and the sound quality is amazing. Anytime sombody tries to deride so called "electroclash" i point to this record -> so punk, so disco, so good! i should buy another copy cause i'm gonna wear this one to the ground.

another great release on the dfa label, this is a stab at all those wannabe music know-it-all scenesters who think they're on some new shit. i laugh because the lyrics are pure genius and the simple beat is great. music references of everything from yaz to daft punk to basic channel and afrika bambaataa make this a record worth listening too for its humor alone. whether you get it or not, "the jokes on you!" this record is brilliant!
