'Strings Of Life' is a Techno masterpiece and a musical work of art. It's certainly Derrick May's finest moment (although he has made some cracking records such as 'The Dance', 'Nude Photo', 'Beyond the Dance'). But this record will go down in Electronic and Dance music history as one of the most unique and groundbreaking records ever made that rocked dancefloors and raves worldwide. The 'Piano Mix' is the one to go for. I think this was originally conceived and released in 1987 but was again re-released in 1989 to perfectly coincide with second Summer Of Love in the British House clubs. A true piece of musical history that will forever stand the test of time. Derrick May is a genius of electronic music.

Nice to have, but the best tracks have been endlessly compiled so anyone with more than a passing interest will most likely have them already. The "remixes" of Strings Of Life (really more like cut-up re-edits with the odd overdub) are pretty disposable.

Disposable? Really? I personally see these two other mixes more as cool mix tool versions rather than trying to compete with the well known, cult and classic main mixes. I'm guessing this is what Derrick had in mind when he did them.
