a mind blowing dystopian travel through time and space. Great concept and sounds. Reminds me to Drexciya, Prince, UR, Boards of Canada, Luke Vibert.

brilliant release! i stumbled into it by my local record store. the tracks are very funky, groovy and funny and even emotional. its one of these records you listen through from start to finish. deffinetly worth checking out!

Absolutely stunning release from SDC, who's ascent into the upper echelons of the R&S roster has been pretty meteoric. Early works showed promise, and the first couple of releases on R&S were high quality, but occasionally lacking consistency. This though takes it to the next level.I think it was DJ mag used the word "preposterous" in their review, and indeed, on one level, the concept album / sci-fi story backdrop to this long-player is just that, but it is part of the whole appeal. How he manages to get everything _just_right_ is beyond me:From the sci-fi atmospherics and "Hitchhikers Guide"-style machine voices, to the authentic Detroit and disco-funk referencing sounds, from the analog synth washes and juicy reverbs to the superlative quality of the tunes as standalone entities, all in a balanced combination of sexy and sleazy with spacey and funky, I cannot fault this album. Touches such as a "Star Wars"-referencing "never tell me the odds" only add to the appeal. Musically, Everyone from Human League to UR, Egyptian Lover to Carl Craig is welcome to this party; it is like hearing something you have always known but long forgotten. And on top of that the vinyl double-pack is a treat, including a CD of the album (very useful) and 70s style insert (only inner sleeves would have been better), and furthermore there was also the off-chance of picking up a green-coloured copy. (I wasn't so lucky)

Just a quick "heads-up", there is absolutely no way of telling what colour vinyl you are getting if the item is still sealed.....you have to open it up and have a look, I know, I've got both. I got a green vinyl copy due to my savvy vendor opening it up, checking and then advertising the fact that it was an extremely ltd green vinyl copy.....happy hunting!

first 50 (apparently) come on green vinyl, mine just arrived and it's defo green!

R&S posted that they pressed 350 copies and first 50 on their shop get the green. Juno also made a preorder w/ a note that it's limited 500 copies on green. Who to believe?
