Xela - For Frosty Mornings And Summer Nights FLAC download

One of my complete favorite albums.One of records to chose when i need calm and focus, but creativity and expansion.

Xela is an artist who released For Frosty Mornings and Summer Nights on Type records. It is a place where Helios, Grouper, Johann Johannsson, Clams Casino etc have all released their albums respectively.For Frost Mornings and Summer Nights has some really nice melodies. There are tunes if one can differentiate will become expedient for Summer tunes and Winter tunes.The glitch aspect in album is inherent ; For we can hear it minimalistically even in the ambient tracks or beatless tracks. There are moments in this album, where it shows its hip hop side by implementing the ardent hip hop beat box style.

The title pretty much sums up the feel of the album.In some ways it feels cold and icy with glitchy beats and distant tones,in others,it feels warm and hazy with gorgeous melodies meandering over crunchy beats putting you into a relaxed state of mind.This album has never left my side since release and i count it as one of my favourites in this or any genre.It still stands up today and sounds amazing through a good set of cans and equipment.Highly recommended!

My favourite release that Xela has put out. Every song on this CD is very clean and pure ambient glitch. The first track has these really mellow and deep bass lines that go along to perfect glitchy drum patterns. The song is put together perfectly! The second track has a loud snare hits but they are very short ones making it glitched with fast kicks and basic hat patterns. My other favourite track on this is track 10. This CD can be played over and over again, it's just that good.

You reallu gotta be into this stuff or you'll have to pass this release of as 'too intelligent'. But I myself have no problem with it what so ever! Great record. A sort of chill-out glicks 'n cuts, but not really ambient or IDM...very on its own. The record feels like the sound of the sea, when you close your eyes and lay back. Neo is also a great label, check 'em out!

Can basically be summed up in one phrase: "mellow glitch". There's some nice movement of the mellow synths and bass notes here, but Xela has plenty of crackles and pops to agitate or please, whichever camp the listener may be from. The best tracks here are the "beatless" ones, which go for atmosphere over digitalia.
