if you thought INDEPENDENT WORM SALOON (producer John P Jones of LED ZEPPELIN) with the black "Capital Records" label on it was a shock enough (hay, MATCHSTICK was on it!)... well, brace for this one, even WORSE it's on DISNEY/HOLLYWOOD RECORDS. Right next to Hillary Duff and the rest of the Military/Intelligencia Offspring Brats. I'd call it POP-CUM BUBBLE-BUM CORP music. There is a backup if you don't want hollywood infiltration (or perhaps the Buttholes were "managed" from the very beginning, along with the rest of the counterparts)... get your hands on what we're more familiar with, being the "AFTER THE ASTRONAUT" tape/cd (pretend it's a bootleg) instead for a shade of brown (it's not on vinyl from the looks of it). The ending of "Get Down" gets a bit psychedelic going into "Jet Fighter" with an (anti?) war theme (some staples of 1967-68 hippie culture, i doubt it was intended but it's there by default). Love it or leave it, we'll see what the fellas have in store for next time (as long as Buzzo keeps outta it). but yeah, DISNEY and HOLLYWOOD, go figure.... lame.

I think this album is great and overlooked. Not if you're looking for their raw punk sound but for a polished acid rock sound, this album is unlike their others and probably my favorite.

the surfers need to give it up there done and this cd proves it.

Thats what I heard but I don't know how true that is. The album was supposed to be out this summer and summers almost over and I haven't seen anything yet or heard of any shows planned, so I'll believe it when I see it.
Shakar
nope they're still alive and well going with a new album in 2018

Haha dude this Album came out in 2001 and your comment is from 2015, they've definitely already disbanded at this point
