Kind of an underrated LP form this band. A moody, opiated LP ahead of its time, as it sounds like a combination of what Low is currently doing now, Bohren and Der Club of Gore and some shimmery-gazey electronic warmness that wouldn't be out of place on a Kranky Records roster. The vinyl pressing sounds especially strong!

I recall I was a bit disappointed when this album was first released, because I wanted it to be closer to their late 80's/early 90's heyday. But art doesn't work like that, of course, and listening today I begin to realize what I missed. It's really a logical continuation of the band's earlier work, and indeed the vinyl press sounds strong and vital. Fans of the Telescopes should strongly consider checking this one out.
