Seems like there are various colour combinations of this item. I've seen listed with photos on various sites blue/blue, red/red, red/green, red/blue, red/marble grey. Maybe more?

"Enter at your own risk"...this Jesus and Mary Chain compilation is definitely Not for the faint of heart, or for the uninitiated JAMC fan! There are 6 sessions in all & all completely different!! To put it simply, the farther back you go in time, the more feedback-laced! You may find it easier to "wade in" with the 2nd half first and then listen to the 1st half. What I can say is William and Jim Reid took what seems like a very simple concept: take early 60's American bubblegum pop, add a touch of The Velvet Underground, speed it up Ramones-style and then completely annihilate it with killer amounts of feedback & that's exactly what the earliest sessions will showcase in full "Head-On" JAMC! Later sessions they "peel" & deconstruct, still giving what you want with fuzz & distortion, just easing up on the feedback, with the 2nd session even going acoustic! I can say, I've never, ever heard acoustic done like this with sounds so polar opposite: pretty & sweet, yet still tart! It's truly amazing to hear; first, how well William writes music & his lyrical content is, in American: amazing!; in British: brilliant! (I also very much enjoy when William takes a lead vocal, doing several here & completing the CD with a great acoustic "Here Comes Alice" on the last track.) I've never been very big on acoustic, since I usually associate acoustic with folk-sounding music, and had I known there was an acoustic session on here, probably would not have gotten it & that would've been a very big mistake!! Because I would have missed just how intricately creative The Jesus and Mary Chain are & that acoustic needen't sound folk-y at all!! Especially not when The Reid brothers are playing it!!...Second, well, no one in the world of rock/punk has ever sung-moaned-groaned their way through a song like Jim can! Some will sound like he's knocking on the gates of heaven, while others, still, will sound like the tortured, despairing souls in hell are snapping at his heels. Particularly sexy version of "Take It" from Automatic, both on guitar & vocal (with a lot of bass). I had to actually check my Automatic CD for it because I didn't remember anything so sexed up on Automatic!! This version of "Far Gone and Out" is sung much more low-key & quiet than on "Honey's Dead" with a much stronger bass line. BEST "Sidewalking"! (also more bass). JAMC not only "changes it up" for each CD/lp, they'll slightly twist, turn, or wring out a new version of each song every time it's recorded and all great!! Just when you think you know a song inside & out, you don't...the Reid's always have a way of surprising! This IS The Jesus and Mary Chain telling their story, while it's unfolding, of how they became the revered trailblazers they are to so many adoring fans & became an inspiration for many a band thereafter!!
