I don't usually enjoy mixes post early 2000s but this here is incredible. I wish Guy Gerber would release an unmixed version because you can't get many of these tracks anywhere. Running Through The Night should at least be a single. That track gets stuck in my head for days. Awesome stuff!

Melancholy and distant, this mix weaves so many barely-there-and-then-they're-gone fragments, smears and cloud of sound as to (on first listen) be easily and unfairly mistaken as homogeneous or one-pace. Subtleties exist that contribute to each passage's character (to call each on individual songs isn't always appropriate) while contributing to an overall imagery, one that evokes mirrors, dull lights glistening over snow and all sorts of other vaguely otherworldly (yet uncannily recognisable) shapes. Proggy? Perhaps, but this is no bad thing and to prejudice against it would be to deny yourself a surprisingly high-quality and seductive mix.

This is brilliant! When I saw the tracks were all his own it annoyed me as it always does. I mean, cheeky isn't it? I put it away and I only listened to it through boredom with everything else I've got. Then I listened again and now it's going in my car so I can listened again in the morning. It is really beautiful and emotional and even melanholy, so not really for bouncing around in euphoria to. One thing, this is closer in style to Progressive House than anything else, which isn't supposed to be what fabric is pedalling. Forget the House and Tech House descriptions, this is far closer to plodding Prog, but extremely good too!

You cannot talk about this compilation without mentioning "The Golden Sun And The Silver Moon", a standout track in Gerber's discography. This mix is all of his own work from top to bottom, not unlike the Fabric mixes from Villalobos, Omar-S, and Shackleton. The genre is mostly tech house, but with a slow, downtempo edge to it. A melodic and melancholic mix is in store, and I absolutely love the sound. To call this mix brilliant would be a gross understatement. Progressive has been knocked down so much since its heyday at the turn of the millennium, but artists like Guy Gerber are restoring its credibility.
