Notes

The second track appears to be a slightly different mix of Pepper - "I Cant Take" released in the states in 1989, although this is not noted anywhere.

It is worth noting that D1 here (Which is the same as on the Westside Promo) is slightly different to the track 'Only Wanted To Be' on Yoton records. The version on Yoton is more bass-heavy, and is arranged slightly differently.

Stereo 33RPM.

Artist information taken from the sleeve. The labels show:
B2 as - Fast Eddie
B3 as - Martin 'Bogieman' Lunar

Paisley Square- Translitional phase is melodically a version of Iron Butterly's in a Gadda da vida, Nimrod- Acid Haze samples Jimi Hendrix purple haze

Don't know of a better original acid comp (and i've only disc one!) As far as I can tell, the majority of cuts here didn't get full 12" release ... Slave Acid Bitch, Clap Your Hands, Night Of Acid, I Can't Take The Heartbreak ... if they did, please let me know and i'll gladly take someones spare copy off their hands :-)Up there with Trax's "Acid Trax" series (Volume 2 in particular) and taking on a similar format - 3 or 4 killer tracks a side. This collection highly recommended & currently unbeatable value - time to bag a complete copy I think ...(better late than never!)

Generous compilation of the original acid house craziness right smack from the time frame it was alive and kickin. In the late 80's early 90's this sound was such a new weird hybrid, the introduction of chicago and detroit vinyls to the european clubs proved explosive, the renewed interest in psychodelia in general unravelled a unique type of house electronic sound, the UK was the most prolific in this development, where the sound got more rowdy, more dark, and more futuristic, house shifted from being a simpler feel good vibe sound to a wider trippier mindspace. This comp can put you there in those years, and there are still lessons there to be learned by djs dancers and listeners .

This compilation of acid tracks contain some of the biggest artists of the early acid era under various names, togheter with rare tunes like James "Jack Rabbit" Martin "Only Want To Be". Unlike many other compilations, the tracks are carefully picked on this one making it an easy recommendation for those who want to track down some of the early acid tunes without having an extremely large bundle of cash to spend.
