This is in fact a various artists EP and the correct info is thus:-A1.Mike Huckaby - 'Urban Tropics' A2.Reel By Real & Anthony "Shake" Shakir - 'Serene' B1.Reel By Real - 'Sundog' B2.Reel By Real - 'Interpret'It's always nice to see the proper artists get the credit and respect that they deserve.
Rivik
Interpret is supposedly Martin Bonds (Reel By Real) as well.
Zahisan
But from where do you have the information? The Printing says it is all produced by Juan.

A! How come no comments. This is one of my favourites of Mr Magic but I'm slightly confused by the credits. Martin Bonds aka Reel by Real released Serene and Sundog in 1991. This according to Discogs came out in 1991 but I got it in 1993...Anyway, considering Mr Magic don't need no more shouts Mr Bond, Mr Martin Bonds should by all accounts get some credit. Listen to Surkit if you don't believe.

Sundog is so deep I cant believe it was made in 1991
Qudanilyr
Mike Huckaby made Urban Tropics. Shake made one of the others.

"Serene" and "Sundog" are infact productions from Martin 'Marty' Bonds.Originally found on the Interface 12" and funnily enough distributed by Juan's Metroplex label. So why Juan licensed these to ULR without crediting Martin is beyond me. Check recent Artless double 12" release for Martins seminal output remastered.

Because Juans name would sell more copies than Martins, the music labels main objective is to shift units honesty is secondary.
Tehn
European labels licensing music and incorrectly crediting the artists isn't unusual.

It has never really been disclosed about the "Serene" and "Sundog" tracks as both have been attributed to Atkins & Bonds on different releases. In 1990, the "Producers EP" which "Sundog" originally surfaced on (on Interface) was not credited to anyone, albeit was a different, more beat driven/bass heavy version. A year later they was released on this Atkins EP. It wasn't until recently when the Reel By Reel "20 Years Surkit" album came out with the said tracks on which left people under a shroud of confusion. If you read the press release for "20 Years Surkit" it will explain this.
