Ease Up VIP has to be one of the best tunes Mike's ever made. Pure jungle/hardcore mania.

Well that depends what your into. The majority of mikes work is nothing short of Amazing but a lot of his other work destroys this but then if your into your jungle and Break-Beat you might prefer this but I guarantee people will view his early work right up to Royal Astronomy as his best and his Kid Spatula material over this. Wergle The Proud is Awesome and the VIP mix.

I remember hearing this vinyl for the first time on a rave not so very long ago. The people who were dancing were exhausted before this record came along, the dj spun the Ease Up V.I.P. (12:27) side. I still see myself crying (yes I realy was shedding tears down the dancefloor) and shouting, this record holds so much emotional sounds it will get any raver mad. The hard kicks combined with the ambient synths and the breaks all team up gently to get those dancing people shot up in the sky, euphoria surrounds you when listening to this record.

Knowing the past works of Mike Paradinas, you can't really say this is an odd record, just not what you'd generally think when you hear "µ-Ziq." The title track is pure oldschool drum'n'bass, full of breakdowns and backspins, and some very well known vocal samples (possibly to the level of being over-used). Quite a drab track, when compared to the extensive Paradinas library. "Wergle The Proud" is more the µ-Ziq I think of when looking back through the years - odd warbly electronics, with d'n'b drumloops woven in quite well. On the flip, "Ease Up V.I.P." isn't in the normal style of VIP mixes. Instead of being a friendlier version of the original, it's extended with more creepy electronic warbles, which start to sneak up on you after 2 minutes 30 seconds into the tune. Along with the µ-Ziq-ish electronics comes a sample from Egyptian Empire's "The Horn Track," both which carry through the rest of the song, improving the original greatly, along with the fact there are less worn-out vocal snippets thrown in. If not for that first track, I'd consider this whole single amazing. Even with that detraction, this is definitely one to find for personal enjoyment, or to toy with crowds.
