Her best album to date (the orchestral version, live, is also very beautiful), pure genious of the arrangement/composition and a voice that has evolved in a good way, very emotional and political at the same time. A masterpiece.

Though I'm a fan of Natacha Atlas, this album bored me straight. Dismissing her electronic edge for a more primitive classical style, this album does nothing to question the boundaries between genres. The music is pretty, tasteful, and artfully arranged, but it's all been done the way it's been done so many times before; it doesn't evolve past the prettiness.Most of the tracks are fairly catchy and pleasant, but for the most part the whole affair is pretty forgettable. I hope she doesn't continue this path, because another 'Ayeshteni' would be great.
